  • Morning all, time for one of these:
    Quote:
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

    What is a Troll?
A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made. If you should get such a comment made on any thread you post, asking for help and advice, please realise this comment is not directed at you personally so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal because the majority of us really are a lovely bunch – ooops, modesty!

What should I do if I get a comment made on my thread?
Firstly do not respond to the comment as this is invariably what the troll wants. So to get rid of the offending post, at the bottom of the post towards the right hand side you’ll see a red "Warning" triangle within a blue “Abuse” icon, as shown below:
    report.gif

Click the icon and then "send" the message which will inform the abuse team of the post, who will then review its content and deal with it as appropriate; sometimes even deleting the troll by making their status PPR’d (Posting Privileges Removed). Remember, this site is an asset to so many people, especially those that feels like their world is falling in around them. There is a wealth of knowledgeable people here all willing to help, whatever you do, do not let the comments of one silly individual deter you from availing yourself of the knowledge base that is on offer here.
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE FORUM

It is testament to the work that Martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time, knowledge and experience freely to others; without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of their debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT
I must stop procrastinating, I must stop procrastinating! promise I'll stop tomorrow OK:D

I am absolutely furious - I've just had a call from my daughter who is in floods of tears all because of an a*sehole who works for scotcall debt collectors. She recently sent a letter to all her creditors offering a token payment of £1 for 6 months as she is on benefits and is struggling at the moment, they have all accepted this except scotcall (who say they didn't get the letter?).

The highest OS balance she has is over £1000 and they have accepted the £1 per month, the balance with scotcall is only £47. She had a text asking her to phone them which she did and spoke to a p*ick who basically laughed at her and said that what she was offering was a joke and they wouldn't accept it and would pass the account back to OC with a view of it going to court, she asked who the OC was, as she couldn't remember, and he wouldn't give her their address and told her to look it up on the internet. I've just phoned them to complain about this idiot, not that they will do anything about it, and they said they can't accept £1 because it's not profitable for them, what's that supposed to mean? I told him I thought they were all a*seholes and they have no right to humiliate people on the phone. I've told my daughter to write and complain and send another copy of the original letter and send recorded delivery and see what they come back with. These people make me sick, they only get away with it because it's on the phone, if it was said face to face I'm sure there would a few admissions into A&E with baseball bat injuries or worse and I would be first in the queue with a bat!

Sorry for the rant but I had to let off steam:o

    BL keep calm ;)
A lot off on here have had to deal with DCA's on the phone and the bullshit letters they send

The DCA's have had training in in being nasty, evil, lieing scumbags:mad:
We are just nice people trying to do the best we can:A
We have to learn to treat them (DCA's) with the same contempt they treat us.
This might sound like a bit of a telling of but it's not meant that way:A

Some rules about dealing with DCA's
    - Read this
    - DO NOT talk to them on the phone
    - Send any offer/ request correspondence by recorded delievery

    and then read this :D:rotfl:

just remember you and your DD are not alone,
and we have letters and some clever people on here:T
PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT NERD #869
Numpty,Not sure why but I'm crying :o . Of all the peeps on this board you're the kindest & most supportive of all & I'm  & :( for you all at the same time . Wish I was there to give you a big :grouphug: & emergency hobnobs

Rude ignorant bstds. Hopefully you have told her not to ring them again? If they did pass the debt back to the original creditor this would probably the best result from her. She can be certain nobody is going to take her to court for £47. I would agree totally with your advice to send it again recorded and then make sure she doesn't speak to them on the phone at all. If they keep texting/phoning her then she can send the letter to stop harrasment and ask for all communication to be in writing. Make sure she pays them the £1 each month whether or not they say they accept it.

Erme - how much coffee did you actually have to end up in A&E?
Baking and or just chilling sound far prefereable to ironing. In fact most things are better than ironing. Well maybe not sitting in A&E...

Thanks Spoon and Numpty, I was just sooo angry thst by their stupid actions they can reduce people to tears, I've told her not to deal with these muppets over the phone and if they call her to just ignore them, all this for £47 I ask you.

Anyway I've calmed down now, thanks.

Got to pop out - back later.

    Thanks Tixy for your advice.
