Hi Everyone,

Not sure if we have this thread over here on BR board but DFW bump this often so that newcomers new & old are aware of the possibility of `troll` issues.

They `bump` it along regularly to keep it in peoples minds. Perhaps it would work over here?

Hi everybody.


Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

Phew, this feels like it's been such a long day!

All test result have come back clear so I'm over the moon

interview went well i think, it seems like a brilliant company and it has real potential for expansion meaning id be there for (hopefully) a few years if i got the job, it does seem like another one of those perfect jobs! they said that they'd be in touch either tonight or on Monday so hopefully I wont have to wait forever but as they had loads and loads of people to interview I'm not sure how confident I feel!

im off to finally update my nsds - thank goodness i have a spending diary!!!

Good evening everyone, glad interview went ok, Allie, I bet you will be on tenterhooks for the phone to ring....in my current job I got one of 8 advertised positions (over 200 applicants apparently). I had to wait nearly a week before I got the call to say I got the job, so know how you feel!

Tixy, I slept from 08:30 to 13:15 today. I only let myself sleep 5 hours or so during the day when I am on nights, so as I can have a few hours of a normal life before going to work in the evening again. I find it manageable becasue I only do 3 nights (usually split) in a week for 2 weeks of the month. If I worked permanent nights I would be a walking zombie!

We just had an annoying phone call from some home improvements firm touting for business. OH answered it, some chap who gave his name as Albert (sounded like he was of foreign extraction) asked if he was speaking to the homeowner. OH on hearing the caller was from some home improvements firm went ballistic, demanding to know where Albert got our number from (we are ex directory and registered with the TPS to screen out junk calls). Albert said it was on his database. OH terminated the call, telling him he had no right to be ringing our number. On trying to do a 1471, the call was still connected, so Albert obviously had not disconnected the call his end, thereby jamming our line. OH threatened him with the police if he did not end the call this minute. Eventually the call was disconnected. On doing a 1471 it was "we do not have the caller's number" so that suggests it was an overseas call centre.

I know people have to make a living, but firms like this are complete scumbags. Imagine if it had been a DCA or something like that, harassing some little old lady somewhere!

Rant over, Nargle back in equilibrium again!

Hi all - glad your tests came back OK Allie - it's a worrying time waiting around for them - and sounds like you had a good interview so everything crossed for you getting the job as it sound really good

Mr 3Dogs had a good morning at the car boot - got rid of lots of stuff and took £160 - so after pitch and coffees he came home with £150 towards our spending money - good job as I spent £50 on my nails, eyebrows & hair :eek: it's a long long time since I've done that and it will be a long time before I do it again - but just to give you an idea, my elongated nails are now this colour - lubberly

Just having a snack and then it's back to packing, packing, oh and some washing I forgot to do :eek: luckily I don't have to do any ironing as we have a portable clothes steamer which we will take with us and steam as we need

Oh, and likkle doggies are now in kennels - the older 2 have been in kennels lots of times, but youngest has not and he was frightened by all the barking, but he will soon settle down and he'll be barking back at them in no time
