    Hi Everyone :hello:

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

    What is a Troll?
A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made. If you should get such a comment made on any thread you post, asking for help and advice, please realise this comment is not directed at you personally so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal because the majority of us really are a lovely bunch – ooops, modesty!

What should I do if I get a comment made on my thread?
Firstly do not respond to the comment as this is invariably what the troll wants. So to get rid of the offending post, at the bottom of the post towards the right hand side you’ll see a red "Warning" triangle within a blue “Abuse” icon, as shown below:

    report.gif

Click the icon and then "send" the message which will inform the abuse team of the post, who will then review its content and deal with it as appropriate; sometimes even deleting the troll by making their status PPR’d (Posting Privileges Removed). Remember, this site is an asset to so many people, especially those that feels like their world is falling in around them. There is a wealth of knowledgeable people here all willing to help, whatever you do, do not let the comments of one silly individual deter you from availing yourself of the knowledge base that is on offer here.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE FORUM

It is testament to the work that Martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time, knowledge and experience freely to others; without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of their debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT

    This story is for Niddy.
Your reference to Jock Mactavish http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=33448825&postcount=3651
brought back memories of a Sergeant that I knew in the Royal Engineers. Sgt Jock Geerie, a Glaswegian by birth and one heck of a character. He was known in the Squadron as Angus. He used to walk into the Sqn Office 5 minutes after everyone else had arrived, and say to the most junior soldier there “Away Laddy and Angus Macoatup”

When we were on exercise in Germany, we were invited to a Bar-B-Q organised by the civilian maintenance workers on the camp. Jock was warmly received by all as he attended wearing his kilt. The German wife’s thought is was great when in the later stages of the evening, Jock proved Scotchmen go commando when he did a backwards handstand against the wall. His Kilt fell over his head and he announced that he was a shuttlecock.

Now Jock being single for a very long time used to tell the lads he was bisexual, what he meant was if he couldn’t get it for free he used to go out and buy it!.

When this was about to happen he used to announce that it was about time that Mactavish was introduced to a nice lady. The story goes that on one exercise in Germany Jock got the urge to take Mactavish to a house of ill repute, where rumour had it the Madam knew a few tricks rarely practiced or known by most women.

When the deal had been done, Jock was undressed and the Madam was waiting for the attentions of wee Mactavish, Jock gave the order in a voice not unlike Sgt Major “Shut up” Williams ( Windsor Davies - it aint alf hot Mum) “Attention“. To which Mactavish sprang ramrod straight to the vertical, “At Ease” he ordered to which Mactavish relaxed to the horizontal. “Stand Easy” to which Mactavish relaxed lifeless to the vertical down.

“That’s amazing” said the Madam, “I ave been on ze game for 30 years, and I ave never zeen a man wiz so much self control“, “Can you do it again?” Jock showing off now went thought the routine again. “Ow do you do it?” she said. That’s cause Mactavish is a trained soldier said Jock.

“I am a betting vomen” said the Madam, “I bet you that you cannot order eem to stay still for 5 minutes". “If Herr Mactavish does not move in zat time it eese free”, “If he moves zen you vill pay double marks”. “Your on” said Jock. “Attention, At Ease Stand Easy”. Mactavish was a limp and lifeless as a Bratwurst on a Butchers slab.
4 minutes went by an Mactavish was still comatose, the Madam was worried she might lose the bet. As a last effort she tried a very special and secret trick.

Mactavish began to tremble, he moved a little bit more and then all of a sudden he sprang to life and shot bolt upright. Jock pushed the Madam to one side, grabbed Mactavish with both hands and began to bash the Bishop most violently.

“Vot are you doing that for?” said the Madam. “Mactavish is refusing an order” said Jock,
“the only thing left for him now is a Dishonourable Discharge!".

    Cheers,handyman123.
