Question on part exchanging my current car

I am considering part exchanging my current car to go towards a brand new one. I will also be getting a discount on the price of the new car.
My question is after the part ex valuation, can the dealer reduce it when I go to collect the new car (as it may be a three month wait for it) and hand over my current one?
I just don't want to turn up to collect the new car, and have the dealer say "oh, well we can only give you less part ex value now because..."
Sorry if this is a stupid question

Not if you have signed an agreement and he's put the value down of yours down on paper.
He might have allowed the 3 months into his valuation

Come on don't be daft you've agreed the price with him although with some of the !!!! car salesman try to pull I wouldn't put it past one of them!!

I think they can change their valuation but only under certain circumstances. I had a look at the small print on the invoice from when I changed my last car and is says the valuation is only valid for 1 month and 1000 miles and is dependant on the car being in the same condition as when it was valued (ie don't crash).
Its worth asking the dealer directly and ask to see the small print.0 -
Everyone loves a new car, but you can avoid the 3 month wait by picking up a nearly new car a few £££ cheaper than new price.0

Thanks for all the replies
I could understand a change in value if I turned up after three months and there was new damage etc, but I was just thinking general things due to length of time (e.g. tires a bit more worn etc)
I'll make sure I confirm how long the figure is valid for and any exceptions etc

Just don't drive it into the garage in three months time looking like you've just come from the destruction derby and you'll be fine you're worrying about nothing!0
