in Credit cards
I got a Barclaycard Initial in October 05, complete with high interest rate. Due to my employer messing me about with my salary (long story), I had to spend quite a bit on my card. As a result it was costing me a fortune in interest.
So, on Sunday I sent them a message via their site asking if they would consider reducing my interest rate.
Tonight, I received a call on my mobile from Barclaycard to tell me that as I'd shown that I could manage my account well (always paid early and never been over my limit), they were going to reduce my rate permanently (is there such a thing with a CC company?) to 14.5% from 25.9%
At least more of my monthly payments will be going towards the balance than the interest from now on.

Barclaycard also did this to me but I threatened to leave them and had been with thenm for about 12 years (at the time). They reduced mine to 9.9% permanent, which I gladly took.
Just be careful though that when they raise the interest rate for their cards just check your statement to make sure yours hasn't gone up aswell. If it has just give them a phone.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0
