Pregnancy Test Question

Options
Hi everyone, hopeing someone out there can help me.
Ive not been feeling that great for a couple of weeks and I am 1 week late, so today I went to Morrisons and got a couple of Home Pregnancy tests and the first one came up with 1 thick red line and the other line was pink and quite faint - although in my partners eyes there are 2 lines. I decided to take the 2nd test incase I had done it wrong and the same thing happened again although this time it was slightly darker.

Any suggestions? Am i pregant or am I imagining things?
Thanks in advance.

Congratulations (I hope) A positive is a positive, no matter how feint the line.

The colour is irrelevant what is important is if there are 2 lines or 1..

A line is a line, no matter how feint, they usually come up darker the further along you are.

    Congratulations to you both :j

I am currently 27wks pregnant and my first 2 tests were light pink positive lines and that was because I was only just due my period and when I did one a week later most def positive line came up.

They measure a hormone called HCG which is high when pregnant - the cheaper the test the higher the amount of HCG they measure so the really expensives ones will be able to detect a pregnancy much earlier than one from poundland!!

That doesn't necessarily follow.. the clearblue digital take so much more HcG to give a +ve than normal ones.. and the more expensive brands like their reputation and rely on that to sell more so do not need to be as sensitive. The shops own brands IME are far more reliable than the more expensive ones as they have to be more accurate in order to keep them selling.

the tests the docs use are less effective than the shop bought ones..

You can get the REALLY cheap ones online which test 25HcG.. whereas standard tests detect about 50HcG and the ones done at the docs need about 100HcG..

I also think it depends on the individual as to which tests work best. For me, clearblue are one of the less reliable tests out there despite being the most expensive.

Your GP will not verify it if you've had a positive from a PG test stick. They trust them. There are far more false negatives than false positives. congratulations. Remember, don't have champagne to celebrate.:T

Not necessarily i had two positives off poundland tests then a big fat neg of a clear blue so i waited a few days and did a digital one which was definative i was pregnant.
