Depends what kind of wristband your talking about. Sounds like the yellow wristbands which are from Lance Armstrong. He created them as a way to raise awareness for the cancer he suffered from (think it was testicular but not 100% sure). Anyway you can buy them on the net. They do come in packs of 10 and I think it's a donation but not sure if its a set amount. It's not much anyway. You could purchase them and give them as gifts to the guys in your family. That's what my friend did.0

Sounds like his awareness campaign is not very successful then...0 -

You can get all sorts of wristbands like that on ebay. Just do a search for 'livestrong' and it will come back with loads. Because they've been around for a while, you should be able to pick one up for under £5 inc. postage.
The bully bands however are a little more expensive as they seem to be 'the' thing of the moment, but can also be found on ebayOctober Comp Wins -Stella Artois Challice (FB)0 -

I have some livestrong ones if anyone's interested? (approx 4 or 5 left, I think)
I won't ask for any payment, I've made a donation already, if you want to donate, make a donation to Martins Tsunami fund.
If anyone (moderators or any other posters) object to me doing this, please let me know and I'll remove the post0 -

This morning I received a nasty pm from some one in regard to this message I had posted on the boards. It was all down to the fact that I had asked people who wanted a livestrong band, to show proof of donation to DEC or one of the Tsunami funds. All of the genuinely interested people have done so and have had the bands posted out by me.
I felt it only fair to ask for proof of donation as I have already donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation for the bands and felt another charity should also benefit.
I wanted to point this out publicly so that everyone would have a chance to see what I was doing and not let negative things spread in regard to the issue.0 -
My manger at work has just posted this on our Intranet. He had cancer a few years ago and is trying to raise money for UK Cancer Research.
If you want to buy some then please let me know.
............
Last year, the Lance Armstrong Cancer Foundation launched a fundraising and awareness campaign by selling yellow wristbands with Lance's motto "Livestrong" on them (the colour represents the yellow jersey worn by leaders in the Tour de France). The aim was to raise around $7m dollars and promote awareness of the difficulties that cancer survivors face in their daily lives. The success of the campaign has far outstripped expectations with people across the world wearing the bands, including many celebrities and sports stars. The total fund raised so far is in excess of $30 million!
I bought a few for myself & my family, and also have a small number of that I wish to sell on in order to raise funds for UK Cancer Research (the original purchase price has already gone to the Lance Armstrong Foundation). I'm selling the wristbands for £5 each with ALL money raised going to the UK Cancer Research charity.
So if you would like to buy one (or more) yellow wristbands at £5 each to help raise funds for UK Cancer Research.0
