car rental charged for extra day!

Hoping for help and suggestions.
On April 30th we took the train from Glasgow to Fort William and collected a hire car at the station at 12.30pm. We hired it for 3 days until Monday May 3rd. We were told to park the car at the station and leave the keys at the station ticket office. Monday morning i asked if we could be 1 or 2 hours late. They said it would be 1 days extra rental. I declined. We rushed back and made it to the station for 12.15pm. I actually asked the train ticket man if they ask what time it was returned, he said no, they just take the keys. Just got my credit card statement and they have charged me for an extra day! They say i asked for an extra day and the car was booked into their computer at 17.00 on Tuesday 4th May. I told them i did not and it was at the station before 12.30 on the 3rd May. They said prove it! They said they would accept the train ticket as proof but would only part refund. They would not give us back the insurance and the exta driver cost (''they have had to pay for these'') Found not the train tickets but a reserved seat ticket showing date and time. I hope that should be enough. I also can prove on Tuesday 4th i was in Italy. Also they said they had to put in 5.5 litres of petrol in it when we filled it up in Fort William. Granted i did not fill it to the brim, only to the click on the nozzle. Also my friend remembers when we went back to catch the 5.30pm train back to Glasgow the car was gone! Where did it go to for a day? I forgot about this in my conversation with the manager where she was not 'customer friendly' at all. I am going to lodge a complaint with the credit card company. We did not hire it for an extra day and i feel i should get all the £66 extra days charge back. Thanks

Write and state your complaint. If they do not refund, claim through your credit card. I had a problem getting refund from Ryanair and one call to CC company filled in dispute claim form and money in my account.
