11 Are there any sites, from experience, which are likely to generate lots of spam?
There are a few which have come to our collective attention as sites that, when used for comps, seem to generate lots of unwanted postal, email & phone call attention. These are listed below for your information, however, please do remember that this is only the collective opinion of other MSE Compers & does not necessarily reflect upon the sites themselves.

MyChild (pester with phone calls quite badly, but Compers have won with them - suggest do not give a phone number!)
Hi I'm Michael from MyChild.co.uk - the site has been under new ownership for well over a year and we're working hard to overcome some bad press from the past. Please be assured that we discontinued the phone call marketing pretty quickly and we don't collect phone numbers when you register with the site.
I'm running competitions on the site at the moment and I know that quite a few people from MSE have won prizes with us - so please don't be put off.
Anyway, good luck to all the compers on here.
