It has to meet the following:

Price range: £20k-£25k

Manufacturer (EDIT as determined by employer): BMW, Honda, Audi, Mercedes, Renault, Toyota, Vauxhall, Volkswagen

CO2 emissions < 160 (would prefer diesel, but not vital).

A mix of practical (family of 4 to cater for, so rear comfort and decent boot space) and, if possible, sexy.

Wide open to suggestions here!

Cheers.

Hi - Well if its sexy you are after I would say a Golf GTI http://www.alandayvw.co.uk/new-volkswagen/golf-gti/default.aspx

The new VW polos are quite nice too actually, no idea about emissions etc I'm always into looks lol :)

Any reason why you have chosen those particular manufacturers?
  • Vauxhall Insignia, very roomy inside nice to drive and you'll get a high spec for the given budget.
    VW Passat, similar.
Toyota Avensis, Diesel Auto (proper auto) lovely drive.
    Renault Laguna.
MB C Class, though it could be off the road for months waiting for new injectors after a week or two.

Honda's new Accord now looks positively ugly since they've tried to ape the Mazda 6 look and only worsened the mess, though one mans meat etc.
Audi and BMW nice enough but you won't get such a high spec given the budget.

    Toyota Rav4 or urban cruiser

Of that lot I would definitly go for a Toyota based on the reliability and quality and that coupled with the 5 year warranty leaves the rest trailing

As its a company car and hopefully they are paying all running costs, get yourself a BMW 325 Sport Auto. A great all rounder.

Looks like they tailor specified it for you.
They even call it the Business Edition to give you a hint.

Skoda Octavia vRS DSG with a shed load of options. I know its not on the list but VW/Audi are so worth making the enquiry.
    Co2 159, (sub 160 just :)
Break horse power 170 turbo diesel
DSG autogearbox straight out the VW/Audi
Class leading bootspace in the hatch, with estate even bigger.
Comes in at about 20k so plenty of money for options.
