Sorry yes another question from me
In my latest effort of veg patch puppy prevention Ive decided to build a tall (v tall) trellis from wood and cover it with mesh, thought this would be better than a fence as I can use the space for growing something. i have got some Marketmore cucumbers currently planted and waiting for them to sprout-would they work up a trellis or perhaps my broad beans? any other veg suggestions welcome! thankyou

I'm growing my cucumbers up a trellis (can't remember the variety but they are outdoor ones) so can't see why not. Don't know anything about broad beans sorry.
Another idea is french beans or peas.

Thanks Kimmee! I already have peas and beans so think i will try the cucumbers :-)0

Peas, or better still, mange tout [always dear in shops] type will be good up a trellis
Any runner or climbing French beans of course would love itWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
My next door neighbour has a grape vine growing on trellis fixed to her fence. It produces loads of grapes every year, but I've not tasted them so they might not be very sweet.0

climbing french beans should do well,or you could try peas, such as sugar snap."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

Climbing French & Runner beans will be fine. Also the winter squashes which don't have enormous fruits can also be trained to grow up a strong trellis. (Sweet Dumpling and Butternut Squash are good varieties for upright growing).0

Thanks all of you, think ill try the cucumbers and broad beans and perhaps grapes next year!0

Squash (though not to everyone's taste), kiwi plant (you can buy self-fertile varieties), dewberries or a cultivated blackberry.
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
