I want a new bank account ... but ...

I would like one i can pay in cash/cheques at a cashpoint. I'm trying to keep my avon stuff seperate as its a tad confusing.

Am i wrong in thinking you can get freebies for new current accounts? Can't find anything at the moment.

Thank you fellow MSE'ers
Julie

I know with Halifax you can pay in cheques/cash at an ATM. With their Reward account, if you pay on £1000 a month you get £5

Or you can try the co-opertive bank current account no freebies though but good cutomer service and no sales people as much and you pay in cash and cheque at a ny branch or post office and take money out of the post office or at a co-opertive branch and it has telephone banking and internet banking.

In my experience Nationwide is one of the best for having pay in facilities on their cashpoints.

If you definitely want to pay cheques in at a cash machine, the co-op cannot offer this. You can however pay items in at a post office.

Nationwide do a service where you can pay in cash at nationwide fast cash machines.

    FAST cash machines
    • Our FAST cash machines and Selfserve tills are available in many of our branches and you can use them if you have a card or a passbook.
With a FAST cash machine you can do the following.
    • Pay in cash instantly.

    • Cash you pay in using the FAST and Selfserve tills is immediately available as cleared funds on your account. You can pay in up to 30 notes at a time up to a value of £2,500 a day.
    • You can pay cheques into your account using the FAST and Selfserve tills up to a limit of £50,000 a day. A variable individual cheque deposit limit also exists. If your cheque exceeds either limit, you can deposit it at the branch counter.

Those are only available inside their branches, so only during branch opening hours.

They sound similar to Halifax's Immediate Deposit Machines, where you can pay in unlimited cheques and cash (again, during branch opening hours).
