Asda:Taking photographs of products breaks trading standards?

I often take photos of items/price tags in shops when i am considering a purchase.
For me its the equivalent to jotting down details with a pen, only quicker.
I'm sure its quite common, any shop getting heavy handed with this will simply end up losing business. They would lose mine right away if they ever challenged me.0 -
Hello everyone,
Wow, thanks for all the comments and advice, I'm only sorry I didn't return sooner to see everything everyone had written! After posting the comment I went away, and the fact I'd left a post about it here slipped my mind....
I think the general consensus here is that stores can have it as a condition of entering the shop that you don't take a photograph, and they can ask you to leave if you do, but they can't force you to delete the images (but they can kick you out). It's interesting. And I think that most people agree that, whilst there may be reasons stores implement these kind of rules it's mostly shear pettiness that causes them to actually act on it.
I've had issues with that store before. In heavy rain, I swear some kind of oil had gotten onto the exit read, my car couldn't stop and I crashed into the roundabout. Despite the fact that (being late) the place was largely empty, it was well lit, I had my hazard lights on and there was clear access around me for people to still use the roundabout, I was told that if I didn't move the car, they'd remove it with a forklift truck! I protested but was told it was private land and they could do what they wanted as I was blocking the roundabout (I wasn't there was clearly room all around).
I wasn't happy moving the car as the suspension was clearly damaged and I didn't want to make things worse, however under duress I did as I was asked and limped the car into the petrol station forecourt. Lucky, as a moment later another car did exactly the same thing and crashed into the roundabout where I'd "parked".
I'd have complained, but by chance a police car drive by and I was told that I shouldn't complain because it could be blamed on the rain.
After both experiences, ASDA Bedhampton is on my blacklist and only go there if I really have to - which has been about once this year...0
