Courgette & Tomato Leaves

Hello all,

Please could you help me?! Weird things are happening to the leaves of my courgette and tomato plants. My courgette's leaves are developing large white marks all over them and the tomato plant's leaves are fading to purple then white. What am I doing wrong? What is wrong with the plants? How can I help them?

I have taken pictures but I can't figure out how to put them onto a post. Can anyone advise?

white on courgette leaves sounds like powdery mildew. you can wet the leaves to stop the spread. You can get fungicide sprays but they aren't supposed to work very well. Some use a weak milk solution?

No idea about the tomatoes unless there are pictures.

    Thanks Pete

I did upload a picture but then was told that I was not allowed to post it as I was a new user. When do they let you post pictures?

Courgettes have natural silver markings as they get older. Your white spots may be the start of these markings. If so, you've nothing to worry about because it's a healthy sign that they are growing.

it could also be 'water marks' where the sun shines on wet leaves and boils them. Again, nothing to worry about.

If its powdery mildew (which I doubt) then the plants aren't getting enough ventilation. They might need some fresh air.

When tomato leaves turn purple they are saying 'put me in a bigger pot or a grow bag and feed me, feed me".

    All the best

Thank you very much, you've put my mind at ease. they are silvery/ white and mainly follow the veins of the leaf.

I will feed my tom tomorrow! Recently repotted so they should be ok space-wise.

    Thank you for your help
