Arnold Clark - Cooling Off Period?

Hi All.

Today I paid a £100 deposit on an 07 Plate Renault Clio, trading in my 56 Plate Toyota Aygo against it.

I've been home a couple of hours now and common sense is starting to take over - I don't really need a new car, extra expense etc...So I'd like to cancel my order.
My question is this - What is the consensus about the cooling off period? Is there one?
What should I say when I go in?

Will I get my £100 back as it's me cancelling and no fault of theirs?

Thanks for any help,

Ewan.

I sat in a Clio today and it reminded me of my dad's old Moskovich van. It was truly horrible.

I can see why you've had second thoughts. Was it that blue colour?

    No, silver actually!
I didn't mind it - Drive quite well too except that the gearbox was a little notchy.
My sensible head's kicked in now though and I think I'll stick with what I've got for another year or so!

There's no cooling off period. Say goodbye to your deposit and accept it as a side effect of being so stupid to be taken in by a 6 month newer car thinking it'd be so awesome :-\

I've just bought a car from Arnold Clark and I was told after paying a deposit (£300) I had 2 weeks in which I could change my mind and get all my money back. Obviously different branches may have different rules but I was led to believe this was common practice at all Arnold Clark branches?
