Distance typing job - scam?

So I've had an email sent to my university address with the subject "Part time job offer". It is offering work as "professional distance-based typists. No experience is needed" and says "monthly earnings start from $1000 to $3000 or more."
Normally I wouldn't touch this kind of thing with a bargepole, and I wouldn't seriously expect to be earning thousands. A bit of extra cash would be nice though. Any experience of this sort of thing? Should I reply and see what happens or will I be signing my life away in some way?

Yes but even if the earnings are 2% of what they say I'd be happy. Does anyone know what would actually happen if I reply?0

some of these involve you "invoicing" customers and recieving payments ( which are by the same people with stolen cards) oryou are supplying name address DOB and bank account details to someone you don't know (identity theft)
worse case you are just trying to sell the same scheme to other peopleEx forum ambassador

Hmm yes you could be right about the identity theft thing. Presumably I would have to give them all kinds of details to "work" for them and god knows what they'd do with it. I think I'll leave it.0
