I suffer from black spot but i leave mine alone, I have heard that mix a drop or two of washing up liq, two tablespoons of baking soda into a gallon of water. The detergent helps keep the baking soda on the leaf. You will have to re-spray after rain.0

It's not so easy to stockpile ready-mixed sprays. I am still using sachets of old skool Bio Multirose.0

The idea is that the baking soda changes the pH of the leaf and reduces the number of fungal spores which germinate. The soap acts as a surfactant - it makes the water "wetter" - it doesn't make the water stick to the leaves but allows it to spread out further.
One of the best controls is to pick up every infected leaf that falls.
We're getting more blackspot these days because our air is so much cleaner. In the bad old days, the chemical contaminants in the air, particularly sulphur, kept the fungus at bay.0 -

I don't grow roses, or rather I do, but let them just get on with it. But I have heard that banana skins under the bushes can work wonders with them (I do the same with tomatoes), also garlic or chives planted round the bushes I believe can help.
I would also guess that a garlic spray would also work against black spot. Add a spot of soft soap and it would nicely deal with any aphids as well.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
