    Hi
I was hit by a bombshell this week.
I had a couple turn up on the doorstep and promptly tell me that they think their 13 year old is actually minefrom a one moment of madness 14 years ago.
Whilst i a have offered to take a dna test and take any responsibility if proved to be true, can anyone tell me if maintenence can be backdated as this has been hidden from both me and the husband for 14 years.
Im trying to do the right thing, whilst being bombarded with threats over the phone at all hours.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

WOW What a nice way of been told you may have a 13yr old child!!

Definitely go for dna test and as for the threats I would have the police involved straight away.

You can only assume that you will have more trouble from this couple.

Charlie, is it possible that they have kept this from you to save the child embarrassment. When did you come out in relation to the child being born? Not condoning their behaviour btw just trying to understand it.

My SIL's husband dropped the bombshell that he was gay after having 3 children together and the kids were extremely embarrassed , especially the teenagers. But can't see this being the case as the child is a teenager atm.

Good luck with it no matter how it turns out. As other advice says, keep all evidence of threats and see a lawyer if possible.

Cannot see anywhere that being gay has anything at all to do with this OP......I think where Charlie says 'hid it from me and the husband'......he's talking about the husband of the child's mother....

However, if Charlie is gay, and the threats etc. are anything to do with that - then that makes it even more important to involve the police as far as the threats go.

    You poor guy!

Get a DNA test done now. If they are threatening you for money (I know you havent said that but if they are) then it sounds very very suspicous!!

This happened to my oh, 2 years ago one of his old girlfriends turned up telling us her 6 year old daughter was his. We had a paternity test done and then she contacted the csa and disappeared with the daughter who we now haven't seen again and don't have a clue where she is, anyway the csa said it was only backdated to the first point of contact from her.
