european breakdown and car insurance ?

just rang RAC, with whom we have full uk breakdown cover, and they want £85 to add european breakdown for 2 weeks
also rang my car insurance, Aviva, and they only cover 3rd party in europe but for a mere £97 they'll up it to fully comp for 2 whole weeks

are there any alternatives to these ?

thanks

I used to take annual cover with the AA or the RAC, for about the same price as 2 weeks cover used to be. We take the car abroad reguarly, so it was worth it for the year. Then I realised after several years I had never used it so I just take it nowadays and just don't bother anymore. No breakdown and third party cover with no problems for a few years now.

Look at Asda breakdown (Britannia Rescue only cheaper!)
