Hi, thinking about getting one of these. Anyone got any recommendations ?
Ideally I would like a hard-disk one, the pause live tv function, multi-region and the ability to copy VHS, etc. ie. disable macrovision.
Can you also get freeview integrated ?
Thanks for any advice - greatly appreciated.

I have a panasonic one too - with built in hard drive and freeview - very pleased with it - it has the reputation for being the best with regard to simple menu on screen.John0

I am looking for a DVD recorder like amc1 but want DIVX playability. I have a Liteon at the moment but it has a noisy fan. Anyone recommend a unit which is cheap, quiet and good value?0

I have a Sony RDR-HX710 with 160Gb HDD and have been very pleased with it.
There are newer models out with integrated digital tuner (Freeview), but I chose the analogue one without Freeview as we can't get it here yet and the DVDR with F/view won't work if it can't detect a digital signal.
A good place to look at for various views and reviews of different makes and models is: http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/] under the Personal Video Recorders section0 -
I have the liteon 5045GDL+. It plays DivX has a 160GB hard drive all write double layer DVD recorder and mine came region and macrovision free from Argos. I have heard of some people having to do the code thing for multi region but I have never had a problem with any of my region 1 disks.Copying from VHS to DVD has also been easy as well.0
