in Credit cards
Years ago when I was 18:o I had a CC with a £500 c limit on it and I went mad with it spend spend spend to the point where I got in big trouble and had to cut it up and pay back fortunes. Not had a CC since until now, I didnt think I would get a cc but I have, I wanted it for 'just in case'. I now think about it and I am too scared to use it:eek:
Do CC companys take them away of your dont use it?
How can I use it correctly to get me into the right way of thinking and paying back straight away?
How silly am I scared of a CC

They can take them away if you dont use them, but this is usually after years of not being used.
How about setting up a direct debit to either repay the minimum or full amount? The former means you wont miss payments and the latter would mean you would have to pay everything back in full so would stop you getting carried away.
Or you could keep it in a safe place in your house rather than have it on you all the time. This would reduce the temptation.0 -
you learnt a lesson alot cheaper than many people on here - I would suggest that you work out what you spend on food and petrol each month use the card for those purchases and pay it straight back - get used to not paying interest on the card then you will begin to hate paying interest on it.0

I use credit card only since May this year - the way I do it is at the end of any day figure out what was the amount that I've spent on the credit card during the day; then transfer this amount from my current account to an instant access e-savings account. After I receive my monthly statement , I just move the entire amount accumulated from the e-savings account to the current account and pay the statement. I hope/believe (with little self-discipline) this method will not get me in debt and will help me not incure any interest.iaye carramba!0

And don't forget, you're older and wiser now and you know you wont do anything stupid. Just be careful.

What you need to do is what I do perhaps. If I use the card I go home and transfer the money via online banking so when I see my balance I know it is my true balance. Also write down whenever you use it so you can see where the money goes to.Nice to save.0

Thank you
I suppose I am just scared that I will have that awful feeling of no money and in debt. I have been in bad debt when I was younger but I don't want to go back there.0
