they also do all help themselves to anything that takes their fancy.
Please write to someone from head office or similar to report thisIt needs to stop. We're not all like this.

Proud to be dealing with my debts but not proud that they are still the same a year on.0 -

This happens near me. I'm so tempted to leave some bags of c£$p! Imagine their suprise when all sorts spills out from them!0 -
Some people have no shame. I bet the woman who stole will NEVER go there again her face is marked!!!0

This couldn't happen in any of the shops i've been a part of. The volunteer obviously cannot serve themselves on the till and the manager/deputy isn't going to let them buy an expensive item for 50p
Plus there is a staff purchases book that gets signed off by the area manager frequently with receipts attached. If that didn't look representative of real purchases there would be hell to pay. I do wish people didn't always think the worse of us
Maybe some places run better than others. We were in vintage clothing until 2000, so dealt with the textile waste yards.
Fraud was rife amongst donations.......but the person in the charity had to have specialist knowledge on what to sell on.
My mother had an antiques business during the 80's/90's and at major fairs like Ardingly there were well know dealers who worked in charity shops. I won't name the charity (but a UK big name) and one couple ran a branch (salaried) and stashed all the good knic knacks, antiques, linens, put a few pence in the till and raked in tens of thousands at the fairs. They weere well known and used to ship up at palces like Bermondsey @ 5am, sell from the back of their van to trade and be gone by 8am.
I believe the big charities have tried to get 'experts' in to help train staff and pricing...Mary Portas did it too..but where there is free stuff, there will be someone out to make a quid on top.
Shoplifting? We had shops for 2 decades and it was blatant.0 -
Stealing must have been high in one of my local Oxfams as now for CDs and DVDs they remove the discs from the cases and keep them behind the till, so if anybody tries to steal the disc from the case they are !!!!!!ed!
That has a disadvantage to genuine customers for used items as they can't see if the CD contains any scratches or not.0 -

Not really a problem, people seem to be happy to come and ask and we show them.Make £5 a day in July - £105.33/£155

I was in a local shop to me which seemed to run by a large family and while I was looking through the books could heard them going through the stock in the back room and quite loudly disscussing how much they could sell things for to certain friends 'down the pub'.0
