I currently have 3 DDs with British Gas (Gas, Electric and Boiler Service).

They have set up a new DD without informing me, can they do this?

They did it once before and put it down to a revamp of the billing system (they then deleted an old one)
Fat and proud lol

If you mean that they have changed the amount paid by D/D then they can do that as long as they have notified you previously and it's a variable rate D/D. But if they have set up a totally new and additional D/D then you need to find out what they're up to as your signature should be required for any new mandate.

I have recently emailed and also phoned BG (££££s  ) as our dual fuel D/Ds went up about £20 each per month without our being previously notified as per the mandates. They reduced the electric one by £11 until a further review when the prices go up again in Sept. Didn't like to tell them we're off to Atlantic asap.:D
We have also not been able to successfully access our online accounts for some time as they have been 'revamping' their system. Apparently we have new account reference numbers too... how helpful!.... it would have been nice to know about that as well :rolleyes2 .

Signatures are not required for DD mandates but they should inform you about any changes.

I thought they had done that for me as well, but it was in small print on a page of the last bill
