have you tried working in a shop ? If stress is an issue this isnt the right job for you

Yes I have worked in shops, both small retailers and supermarkets.

I would say in my experience it is a lot less stressful than teaching, having been in many schools with my previous job.

It was just a suggestion and Im sure the OP has her own ideas about what sort of work she might like to do :)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Hi and thanks for all your comments, which I'll try to answer - first I don't know what you mean by contract op (sorry if I'm being dense..). Next, I have tried and tried and tried to resolve the issues with my employer. My Headteacher has breached the acceptable behaviour policy in front of her HR rep and my Union rep. As a result she has been advised to offer me a compromise agreement, but is taking an eternity.
I had work lined up for June and July through an agency, and will have to turn it down should I not be released from my contract at my current school. UNLESS I can work on my days off - as my GP says I am fit to do so - at another establishment (not a school, but not a shop..).
I am not trying to pull a fast one by working and claiming SSP. I am a victim of a horrendous manager and a ridiculously slow process which she has made even slower. Thanks for all the positive comments - they have helped me no end.:T

Be careful not to do anything that influences the outcome in your main job.
