Hi
Hope someone can help. We were going to change our fire because but due to the type of fire it was going to be £800+ that we can't afford right now. Anway the fire is fine it's just that the trim is gold and not really inkeeping with our house- anyway I noticed this morning that the trim is magnetic and replaceable YAY! Because it's quite a big fire I can't find a trim to fit and wondered if I could spray it with heat resistant paint until I found one??? I don't want to spray it for it to start flaking off though! Any tips? xx

Can't help, unfortunately, but I also have a gold/brass fire surround I've been eyeing distastefully and thinking "Paint!" Anybody actually tried it, please? I was thinking maybe chimenea paint or something designed for cast iron fireplaces-what products are there out there?import this0

Thanks for the question. Sorry I can't help but I have the same problem. It's a baxi bermuda (back boiler) it would cost far too much to replace (over £2000 ) Since it's gas coal effect and we don't use it very often I was wondering if a metal spray paint would work?
I'd also love to paint the hearth and trims which are green and I was thinking beige would be better. After all they used to slap white gloss on them years ago.The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.
