Playing golf - what insurance do I need?

Seems to be thousands of policies on offer at varying prices - what do I actually need to be covered for the basics? Any recommendations?

What sort of cover do you need?

Check your home insurance policy. You probably have liability insurance included on it (eg if you injured someone with a wayward ball).

If you want your golf clubs insured away from home you can add a personal belongings cover or get them specified onto your insurance. Check any exclusions on this to make sure it's suitable for you.

I assume you're playing as an amateur and not professionally so you should be able to cover most things on you home insurance.
