Lanzarote - Fuerteventura Ferry

We are going on holiday in 6 weeks flying into Lanzarote. spending a week in Fuerteventura and then coming back to Lanzarote for a week. We will be getting the ferry across on the first day and our question is, has anybody done this on a holiday and did they book in advance or just turn up on the day?

I look forward to your replies. Everything else is booked so this is the last thing to think about.

Have just spotted this, so you could ring and ask but it looks to me as if you could just turn up.

Never had a problem in just turning up. There is a fast cat and a slower boat, you can always get on one of them. Plus, they are regular, worst case scenario is that you arrive during commuter time and have to have a beer for a hour waiting for it to quieten down :D

The ferry is cheaper than the cat, and if its a nice day (usually is out there!) you'll get views of Los Lobos, Correlejo sand dunes etc from the deck of the boat.

Hi, I did exactly the same thing in February this year, spent a week in Lanzarote and a week in Fuerteventura. 2 days before we were due to sail, we went and bought our tickets to save any last minute rushes at the harbour. But you probably would be fine just turning up on the day and purchasing your tickets.

Have a fab holiday!! I love both of the islands, going back to Fuerteventura in 17 days, cant wait!!

P.S, the Fred Olsen is quicker but a bit more expensive, so we always use the Armas Ferry, cheaper and only takes 10 mins longer! x
