How does all this if your claiming benefits before you leave the UK you can claim them while living in Europe effect the regular medicals for that benefit etc?. As if asumingly your receiving benefits while living abroad you will probably not be in the position to go and see atos at the short notice they give you as flights will be far to expensive and you cant use your benefits for things like flights strictly speaking as your then not using them for living expenses?. Imagine a travel costs claim for £250 as the cheapest option from Greece to go for the medical etc. Would they ever pay such costs for travel?

Would be interested in this issue as my mum keeps going on about moving to Corfu in a couple of years.

You were certainly able to claim IB in another EU country; you have the medical in the place where you live, with a local doctor. Things are unclear how that will work with ESA.

DLA and AA have recently become exportable benefits.

No, I would'nt get there any way as I said my mum if you care to read my post properly. She has been offered the flight there by a friend in Corfu if you really need to know as your certainly asking!.

Well, she will know the "short notice" often given for these things and must decide, as an adult, what her best course of action is.
