if you select a plant, it will be easier to teach you. ie miny rots by burying a branch in the soil, but tht doesnt work for ev erything....Loving the sunny days!0

Most plants will take cutting, woody ones are the hard ones

My tip that I use which I found productive
Is take a cutting just below a leaf. I put in a small pot and put a mixture of multipurpose and around 1/3 not exact sharp sand. I wet compost but not soaking
I slightly wet the cutting and dip in hormone rooting powder. Sometime if plant is delicate I make a very small hole in compost and plant in and push compost back. I tend put several cuttings in, label with date then place either plastic bag and seal with elastic band or get a 2litre plastic pop bottle, I cut bottom off up to the bottom of label with a sharp knife and scissors. I pot a cop of holes in the neck with a drill and leave top on
Put bottle of plant and put in a shady place and leave for 3-4 weeks just checking now and then sometimes see roots coming through. It is guaranteed method but I got around 80% success rate
EDIT almost forgot I tend to take some leaves off and any possible flowers, any large leaves I clip the reason it may encourage roots to form, that is that you want and also less likely to loose as much moisture through leaves0 -
Is now a good time to take cuttings please?I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0

I think if the bush/shrub is flowering then it's best to leave the plant till the flowers have gone back. Then God looked over all he had made, and said, "I can see idiots from my house".
