Bank account for 15 yr old

Can anyone give me some advice?

My son (nearly 16 yrs old) wants to open a bank account that will give him access to his money via a cashpoint. He will continue to also have a savings account.

Any advice gratefully received on recommendations for an account for him. He won't be putting in a set amount of money each month, just on an ad hoc basis.
Thankyou.

HSBC, Lloyds or Halifax. Either will do and offer 'teen' accounts.

My DD (15) has a teen account with Barclays and also has a visa debit card which she can use on the internet, shops etc as long as funds available in her bank. She has had it for 3 years since she was 12. She aslo has savibgs pots which she put a couple of pounds a month into for pressies, stuff needed for her art work, clothes, going out etc etc.

Never had any problems with them and neither has she. I was a bit worried to start with and I can esaily move money into hers immediately which is convieniant.

NatWest do an account called Adapt - sounds very like the Barclays one above - no problems so far! My son is 17 - gets earnings from p-t job paid in, and i pay in money on an SO to cover lunches at school etc

My 15 yo and 12 yo both have NatWest Adapt accounts, with a debit card they can use pretty much anywhere. The downside is that there appear to be no meaningful controls on what they buy online-they haven't tried to buy knives or alcohol (I hope!!) but the 12 yo did try it on with an age-unsuitable Playstation game he knew I wouldn't have let him buy. Let's just say he now knows his purchases are supervised. Even I can follow a PEGI rating. :)
