Council Tax Benefit, Is It Income Based?

Hi
Dh had a massive row at the JC and has received a letter informing him that they have signed him off.
We are fine with that as they were paying his NI contributions only, he did not receive JSA as I work.
We did get a reduction on our council tax though as I am the only one working (part time)in a household of 2 adults and 2 children. I have been waiting for a letter from the CT to say I now have to pay the full amount, but nothing so far.
Is ct benefit determined by someone signing on or is it income based? Should I be expecting a bill or am I safe until dh has found work?
Thanks

As far as I know it is based on household income.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

CTB is based on income. Claiming JSA can passport you to full benefit, depending on your circumstances, but CTB can be claimed irrespective of whether your in receipt of JSA or not.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
