I bought mini boned & rolled legs of lamb from Waitrose for yesterdays roast. They were £4 each (need one per person), they were quite tough, very disappointed, I wouldn't buy them again.

I agree with those who have said that Morrisons and (usually) Sainsbury's are far superior to Tesco for meat. However, taste-wise, none of the supermarkets (even Waitrose/M&S) comes close to the quality of the meat you get at the butcher. Often it is cheaper, too - the butcher near my work (in Central London, so not a cheap area) does gorgeous mince for about £4.29 a kilo, whereas I normally find that the supermarkets charge £5-£6 for anything of half decent quality.

I'm also a great fan of Sainsbury's basics range and find them superior in most things to Tesco Value.

In fact I'm thinking about it and there are only one or two products now which I regularly buy from the Tesco Value range - fizzy table water and tinned kidney beans. And that's because when I need them, Tesco tends to be the only major supermarket I'm passing.

Tesco's meat isn't the best but like my dad says to me "You get what you pay for"

I dont have a big budget, and due to ease (due to being disabled and the location of tesco) I shop at tesco and have to buy there meat as its all I can afford.

Best thing to do with the meat is cook it slowly, yes it take longer but it also makes not like a tyre to eat
