ATM withdrawel - Advice Needed

Withdrawal*

Hi

Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong section and the long story.

I visited a Lloyds TSB cash machine this afternoon outside a local supermarket with the intentions of withdrawing £270 but have ended up with nothing and a 6 week wait. So yeah the grey slot on the machine where your cash comes out opened and it came up on the screen as usual "please take your cash".

It never popped out although I could see it in the slot. The first thing I do is try to grab it but nope it wouldn't budge. After about 10 seconds or so the slot closed and the cash disappeared. I re inserted my card and checked my balance and my balance is £270 less. I withdrew another £10 just to see if the £270 would pop out with it because I didn't want some person coming along obviously

I have been to my bank which is the same as the cash machine and have reported it and was told to fill in a form and at the moment there is a wait for 6 weeks before I get the money back. I can't believe I'm going to be £270 less for 6 weeks

I also got a receipt with it but the receipt only half came out so I pulled that as well and it ripped and the receipt is just blank with "lloyds TSB" across the top.

Oh and the person behind the desk at my local branch told me off when I told them tried to pull the money out because if I hadn't of touched it, it could of gone straight back in my account!

Has anyone had any problems with any sum of money in the past not coming out of a ATM when it should do? Will I get it back eventually? I can't afford to lose this money. To be without it for around 6 weeks is bad enough and the bank wont extend my overdraft until it's sorted because "it's not the banks problem". (I was told this end bit by the person in the branch and also on the telephone)

:(

First thing I will say is that the ATM outside the supermarket may well have a LTSB frontage but is unlikely to be their machine.
What you should do is contact your own bank and go through the ATM disputes procedure.
The new banking code does state that your bank should refund you immediately whilst doing their investigations - getting them to do this is another matter!
