Using shower gel as a face wash

Does anyone use shower gel on their face? A friend of mine does and says it’s a good way to save money.

I personally never use any soap products on my face. My gran told me it's bad for you when I was younger and it stuck.

I save even more money by using a flannel and water from the shower. Anything else just dries out my skin too much!

Have you tried using a creme wash or cheap moisturiser with the water and flannel? the water itself can be quite drying due to the high levels of Lime some of us have.
  • it would be fine if you have greasy skin i tihnk, but probably too drying otherwise. I've used hair conditioner as a face cleanser before though!! worked a treat!
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

i use shower gel on my face, but i buy the cream ones with added moisturiser in them. every few days i use a facial wash with exfoliant in them. i guess it depends how sensitive your skin is

Actually as daft as it sounds ,the worst thing you can do for greasy skin is to try and dry it out as it causes the skin to produce more and more oil .
The best thing is to add artificial oil /moisture to the skin then that slows down the skins own production and then it dries out naturally ,in my experience anyway :)
