Oh and one other thing that added to my anger yesterday - I rang the police to tell them about the damage to the car, they took my details over the phone, and I'm told that if want a crime number then I would have to go to the nearest police station with my driving licence, mot, reg doc's and my insurance details! Great my car is sitting totally lawfully on the road (Parked) and is hit by some toe-rag who doesn't stop and I have to take all my details down to town police station!

It is standard procedure for anyone involved in an accident, however innocent they are, to get a producer and quite right too considering the number of uninsured motorists there are out there. Same happened to me when mine was hit while parked.

My point is that all that info is on their computers via dvla etc, they can check cars for mot, tax & insurance when they are on the hunt to give a ticket out, so why do I have to take time out when I'm the one without a car! Sorry but it's going to be a pain getting to the police station and I can't understand why they can't use their computer system!

Very valid point MM, obviousley designed purely to avoid the "total upheaval and hassle", (my ar£e), of issuing you with a crime number, don't you just love 'em
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
