    I've been Money Tipped!
I miss Netto too.:(The Newmarket shop became an Asda recently and it's now claustrophobic. Netto had excellent deals on typhoo, corned beef, cushelle and loads of other stuff that the main supermarkets couldn't/wouldn't match. Lucky I stocked up, but I'll run out eventually and am dreading that time. I like Asda, but not this one.:( Anyone with Netto nearby, stock up while you still can.

where are u getting your "facts" from?

they are actually doubling the number of staff in each store if the takeover goes ahead.... which it has not done so yet as it needs to be passed by the competition commission

don't speculate without knowing the facts

My understanding is that all employees are offered roles in new asda supermarkets. Coupled with the fact that Asda have more staff than you would have in a Netto then any redundancy would be voluntary. It may be that the hours they are offered may differ to their current Netto hours.

Also don't confuse the fact that it is a small store with a Tesco express. Tesco charge a 7% premium compared to larger stores where as Asda do not they charge the same price as their larger stores and the price guarantee still applies

My local Netto has improved since becoming Asda - although there is still only one person on the tills, there are 2 on the kiosk which I could suppose double as one and there are 4 self service tills. Prices have gone up though.
