Hi guys

sorry i cant go into more detail untill i get home because i am at work and i forgot to bring the bill with me so sorry in advance

i have just received a final bill from N Power because we have moved to EON the bill date it from the 3rd March 2010 untill the 30th April and it states that my electric is billed at £18.73 and my gas bill is £159.60 :eek:

I live in a 2 bedroom house so its not like its huge! I have contacted them today and they are stating that it seems to be correct?

Can any one advise me if this seems a normal amount to pay or if i should fight it because i cant seem to work out how the prices are so different ?

Many thanks and sorry again that i cant give you any more details at the moment

A couple of things to check.
Was the end reading on the npower bill the same as the one you gave EoN, ie the one they will start your billing on?
Were the March 3rd readings estimates, if so the final bill could be a catching up one, with the gas underestimated in March and the electric overestimated.

The important issue is to check the the meter readings on the final bills from Npower are the same as you gave Eon for the start reading.(they will use these readings on your initial bill)

You need to check your bills for the previous period to see if they were based on Estimated readings and this will be the start reading for your final bill. An estimated reading is shown as 12345(E)

    Hello,
Thank you for replying. we are renting the house and when i called earlier they said that our meter readings when we 1st moved in where the same as when the pervious people moved out as our letting agents didnt do a meter reading when they said they did (obviously i know we should have done one our selves and i have no clue why we didnt) so they stated it was an estimate but it is the same as when the people previsouly left. I called EON the same day i called N power to tell them im leaving so i gave them the same meter reading but saying that we had to stay with N Power for 30 days before we could move so im assuming that the reading would have been different when we actually changed over fully
