Free 5-A-Day Garden Planner Download

Not sure if this is in the right place, I know lots of my fellow OS followers are growing their own fruit and veg to save money or are thinking about it so I thought you may be interested in the following info.

I put together a website and newsletter for a charity so I get sent press releases, just got sent one that has info about a free download for
The 5-A-Day Garden which can provide two adults with sufficient fruit, vegetables and herbs to meet their 5-a-day guidelines (or 2 a day for a family of five) from a 10 metre squared plot. It's available as a FREE download from www.5adaygarden.com or available as a paper copy to all visitors to the Hampton Court Flower Show and Wisley Plant Centre.

The system uses willow boxes sold by the sponsor company to form a raised bed system but us MSE'rs know that we can be frugal and creative and use what we have to hand, can salvage or freecycle to make the raised beds. The plan looks rather attractive a fruit and veg cottage garden :D Hope it's of use to someone.

love it - though I can't see hubby (or the kids) being converted on ripping up the lawn so I can fit it all in - though I am sure I'll take some ideas from it

  • I have dreams of having a bigger garden with a few more animals, dare I say the words (very) small-holding. However, if we can't get to grips with the one we have, what's the point. Thanks for this, it'll be a good tester.

Another one to try is by an American called Mel Bartholomew which is the Square Foot Gardening (if you google the name his website comes up!) which I use - 34 crops in three 6 x 3ft beds last year gave me and my boys plenty of fruit and veg for the whole summer.

It froze on me the first time so I closed the page down the page and opened it again and it worked the second time. Think maybe they're getting more traffic than they thought they would :D

    Hi herbaholic,

As your thread has dropped down the Old Style board, I've moved it over to the greenfingered board so that more people may benefit from your link. Unfortunately it wouldn't open for me. :(

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.
