BT from card in different name??

Can i do a balance transfer from my partners (Lloyds) CC to my (Virgin) CC.? or does a blance transfer have to be between cards in the same name? (we are not registered at the same address either)

    From past topics here I believe it is possible to do a BT from a card under another name :)
