Thanks for the advice.
I'm considering taking the kids to hamleys to spend their pocket money given to them for the trip on the second day.
what would be the best way to get there from the hotel in reading?
I would rather not have to drive in london so was thinking of parking near and possibly getting a train?
What do you think? Is it going to be worth it?
thanks asquiths
To be honest I wouldn't bother, as it will be expensive and time consuming getting the train into London to visit what is just a Toy Shop. Hamleys is Ok, but only worth a visit if you happen to be nearby IMO. We went to the shopping Centre in Reading and there was a nice Build a Bear (like the one that was in Hamley's) where you make a bear. I can't remember but I think there may be some Toy shops there too.0 -

Really, I second that, even tho' I'm a sucker for toyshops (and kids amazed faces when you go inside).
If you are going to make the HUGE effort required to go into London, do the Natural History Museum or the Science Museum instead. Fascinating for kids of all ages, free entrance, educational, and loads of stuff in the gift shop at the end for the kids to spend their pocket money on.
Just realised, you will have gone by now anyway.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0
