Cant send email in outlook but can in express??

Hi All,

With the exact same account settings, I can recieve emails with Outlook but cant send them, and can send emails with Outlook express, but not recieve them.
This has happened since the ISP requested that I changed the SMTP server address.

Any suggestions?

From what to what? Is this with an ISP provided e-mail account or an independent one?

ISP is the delightful Legend internet.

SMTP was :

smtp.legend.co.uk

now is

smtp.mail.legend.co.uk

They advised that the change in address was due to their mail servers crashing.

Have you tried using old smtp server regardless of what they say?

Yup tried that as well, they must have re-routed the servers, as I cant send or recieve with the original address.

Just seems very strange that I can send with express and only recieve with outlook. The settings are exactly the same.

Legend support is a joke, if I cant find a solution to this, I will port everything over to Fasthosts, as I have never had a problem with them.

Sorry cant help. I had never heard of legend till today, seems they are quite unrealiable.
