I read somewhere about a woman who had her car stolen and then a while later saw it parked outside someones house. She called the police and told them and got her keys and drove it home!!
Well its funny you say that, OH brought it at the beginning of June from some people in essex, not to be stereo typical but they were essex lad types, anyway we meet in a pub to meet and then when we went to collect it i and pay they wanted to meet in the pub again, i was having non of it and said we need a residential address to go to and go inside. which we did, this guy was selling on behalf of a friend so we also got the friends address.
They had a private plate so said that they would send docs and spare key and service book through post, we got log book fine but never receieved and key or service / rangerover book....dodgy, stuart being stuart never chased it up.
There was no noise until engine started, no broken glass, no alarm, nothing, we have a rotweiller who is on it even if you dare walk past out house so somethings going on.
Turns out the log book address is different to that of the owners address we were given.
It is being investigated by police after telling them info twice.

Another thing to note is that my car was there parked behind it(right outside house with all lights on inside) and the back window of my car is broken and doesn't shut properly, they could have got that easier, also my OH personal truck was the otherside of the rangerover which is worth more and is newer, and would have been easier to get

Something is starting to look a little bit less than Kosher here:rolleyes:
No disrespect to buying anything from an Essex lad, but it is strange that they wanted to do all the dealings on 'neutral' ground.
Did you check that the car was not the subject of unpaid finance?I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Oh no!
We had our car stolen from a public car park a few years back - it was returned to the car park three weeks later.
Hope you have better luck

It's a hell of a long shot but perhaps it's worth visiting a Range Rover forum on the web? (I own a Saab and there's loads of fan websites ie saabscene.com) - Perhaps there's something similar for RR drivers.
Like I said it will probably be a waste of your time, but at least then you're exploring all avenues, these Forum's are very cliquey (is that a word??) so they tend to look out for other Forum members. Even if they just give you a bit of advice or support it will something!
Another thing, getting a tracker - could be well worth doing - they're not cheap cheap, but it's £300 that gives me a piece of mind.
Hope it sorts itself £2 Coin Savings = £0.23

Hi La Tristesse, Thanks for that.
My OH has posted on all of them sites, you right they are cliquey..he's one of them and hopefully they will keep an eye out, His trusted members of the sites have the chassis numbers etc so if it has been stolen to break they can keep there eye out.
Tracker is definetly on the list for our cars now and any future cars. Not letting these scum get us again!!
Thanks
