Lost receipt - can I return damaged shoes?

Hi All,

I bought a pair of sandals from New Look two months ago and within a few weeks the soles had both split. I do not know where I put the receipt and, now that Summer has arrives, want to return and replace my sandals. Without a receipt, what are my chances? They are this season's product and not overly worn but very poorly made.

Thanks,
Sam

It is not unreasonable for the shop to ask you to proof that you obtained the shoes from them or indeed when. A credit card/bank statement should be acceptable.

If you haven't got those then you might get a negative response but you can only ask.

Id maybe be a little cheeky, and if there current stock say u purchased them from xyz branch 2 weeks ago wore them a couple of times and this is what has happend. I think 2 months sounds a little long, cos in reality you could have worn em 60 times
