Where I can swap my motorbike for a car?

Hi,

Does anyone know of any sites that you can trade vehicles? I've looked on Ebay but they have a no swap rule. I don't want to have to pay fees to sell it, and don't have any spare cash so I thought I could swap it with someone who wanted to swap a car for a bike....

My bike is a

Triumph TT600 Blue
17000miles
FSH
Carbon Hugger
Immaculate Condition
Genuine Triumph Luggage Rack

Sorry, I can only communicate by email at the moment as I am posted in Afghanistan. I’m home on R and R for 2 weeks at the end of the month and want to get the wife a car as a surprise, (ideally a Ford Puma or similar) but only have what i can get for my bike. A mate has offered me £2200 but won't have the money for 2 to 3 months..
Cheers

Gavin

Ebay it, put in the ad that your only getting rid of it because the wife wants a puma or similar and you need to sell the bike (your pride and joy) before you can buy her one. Just dont offer the swap in the ad.
Either the bike will sell, or someone with a puma that wants a bike will get in touch.

I have a slight issue with part exing in the fact that I'll get a LOT lessthanit's worth, so would have to put cash on top. If the wife found that out she'd go mad (hardened moneysaver :o) as we are moving house so all our cash is going into that.

I can't put auction on Ebay as I'm away. Will have to wait until I get
back and scrap idea of surprising her when I get home.

    Thanks for your help.

I dont understand the pre-concieved idea that part-ex'ing a car/bike will get you a LOT less than selling privately?!? Unless you rip some poor unsuspecting eBay/Autotrader punter out of some money by asking for double the book value, a dealer will offer you the Glasses guide price (based on mileage and condition), and even that is negotiable. My sister just bought a car, and they offered her £200 MORE than the Glasses price for it as she had nice alloys on it.

Put it up for sale on free classifieds.

Pistonheads.com has a motorbike section that is fairly active.

Stick in that you may be willing to swap for a car.

Gavin two other bits of info I'd wanna know if I was reading are the age of the bike and the length of time it's been stood.
