Connecting TV to Computer

Hi Folks

I currently connect my computer to my TV using the VGA ports at both ends.

I have a VGA port and a HDMI port on my TV and a VGA port and DVI port on my computer graphics card.

My question is this! If I purchase a graphics card with a HDMI port will I then be able to connect the computer to the TV using the HDMI ports?

Thanks

    Yes

    Thanks killerwatt

    Supplementary question!

Would be grateful if you could tell me if there is a significant improvement in graphics display when using the HDMI ports rather than the VGA?

The picture quality should be slightly better.

Incidentally, you should be able to use a DVI to HDMI cable with your existing card - the digital signal format is compatible, though you will need a separate connection for sound, as DVI does not carry that.

Thanks fwor I was wondering about the DVI/HDMI connection possibilities. I do use a separate connection for sound, at present.

Well worth considering before I purchase a new card.
