ESA Help?

Hi

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas what this could mean?

I "passed" a medical for ESA this week and so my benefit amount has been changed to reflect the group i've been put in to.

However, on the bottom of the page detailing the new amounts it says

"The amounts on this page apply from 17 June 2010 to 23 June 2010."

I received my last payment this week so I think that covers it not applying until 17th June, but does anyone have any suggestions why it would only last 6 days? My claim won't be over by then as I'm on waiting lists for medical help for the condition keeping me out of work. I've checked the first letter I received detailing the assessment phase rate which states the amounts apply for a month.

Is it simply down to the benefit going on a week-by-week basis until I return to work (or have another medical assessment; whichever is soonest - preferably returning to work!) now I'm no longer providing medical certificates every 3/4 weeks, or is something going to happen after 6 days that I'm not yet aware of? I haven't been able to call them today to ask for confirmation due to numerous medical appointments, and google is proving useless, so I thought i'd ask here. I'm a regular reader but first time poster.

Thanks in advance for any replies:)

When is the normal time? The end of the 13 week period for the assessment phase? (It is 13 weeks isn't it?:o )

Actually yes working it out those 6 days would be the last 6 days of the 13 weeks. So even though i've "passed" (I hate that term!:o ) the medical, will I still be classed as assessment phase until the 13 weeks is up?:o

What happens after that? Do I just receive another letter?

I've not claimed before so I don't understand how the system works. Forgive me if i've missed something obvious! :o

You get more money and that will mean another letter.

This letter is for more than I was getting though (total will be £91.40 rather than £50 a week). Is that not the maximum you get on ESA? (Under 25 rate)

    Thank you for your help!

You only get the WRAC from the start of the 14th week - so if you have already passed the medical before the start of the 14th week then you dont go onto the higher rate straight away.
