How to loosen Drive Belt On 05 Corsa CDTI 1.3
Hi all,
Alternator has gone on the car and need to replace it.
I am trying to remove the drive belt but I can't find out where to loosen it!
Can anyone point me to a good website or something?
I've got Haynes manual but it doesn't actually show where to loosen it!
Thanks for your help!
Rogar

Pity was just gonna have a look through my own copy of the Haynes manual and see if it was any help! Sorry!0

Hehe, It could just be me reading it wrong0

Go and get a bigger hammer.0

Is there a pulley anywhere that the belt loops round? It may be a ring spanner round that and try to slacken it. This may cause the pulley to move, loosening the belt.0

it could even be as simple as a sprung tensioner like the vw's....work permit granted!0

vauxhall normally have a spring loaded roller/tensioner,a 15mm ring spanner is used on centre roller bolt (they are L/H thread so wont undo)to push tensioner toward bulkhead, you can then put a drill bit in the 2 holes in casing to hold tension off.
i assume the 1.3 diesel the same but it had only just been released when i left vauxhall0
