The OP first posted around 9 months ago. Given his income/outgoings/debt and interest rates there is nothing short of an IVA/bankruptcy or a windfall that will fix this situation.
OP has been around the site for months, read all the good advice but unforunately still hasn't really seen the light........ from what I can work out the OP still reckons he can borrow his way out of trouble by getting a 0% deal, which is just delaying the inevitable really.0 -
May as well forget about getting a lower apr on the debt anyway,
If mbna turned round and said 'you can have 0% on your existing balance for the next 3 years' at the £100p/m that you pay nowyou would still owe them the thick part of a grand in three years time.
Wake up. You either need to start earning more and paying more off your debts, spend less on other stuff and more on your debts or one of the other options mentioned.
Respect for taking up the challange to pay it off, It can be done, I am going through it myself. 6mths ago I had over £25k of debt. Start of this year it was 16k. or, to put it another way, in the 6mths since you started this thread I have paid off 9k and thats all through advice and support from this forum. most of it just reading others posts and learning from them.
Rather than just keep asking how you can get more credit at lower rates why not actuall make a start on doing something? I was in your boat but with a bit of hard work I should have cleared my debts in a year. better still I should also be able to save up enough deposit and hopefully have my own house before I am 30 in 3 years time!0 -
Hi, well I'm still here and still (just above) water.
I haven't applied for any credit in over a year now, (June 2010, that Halifax lob card offer), and I've still not missed a payment or been late.
Had letters from all my Credit card companies stating that from xx/xx/2011 they are increasing the APR % rates, how nice of them.
Got one last get out of jail card up my sleeve and if that fails, then I've only got one option
And yes, I do know I owe over £15,000 still with a salary of £16,000 and am nearly at my agreed monthly £200 overdraft limit each month.
Just sucks that these APR increases really kick you when you are at your lowest ever
£10k now on the MBNA card, after shifting the £3k on the RBS to MBNA. I now have a zero balance on the RBS card - but they won't offer me any deals or life of balance rates so that went pear shaped too.
I'm trying to get out this hell hole, I am
