HI All,
Basically my situation is during the academic year say september to july. I spend one evening a week at college as part of my training for my job. the trip from work to college is about 20-30 miles.
the course that I do is related to work and helps me do my job better and I do enjoy the course. its not as if I don't want to go. I'm just wondering if anybody knows whether I have a right to claim fuel expenses on this journey.
thank you

You need to ask your eomployer as there will be local agreements and rules and procedures for such queries - there is no legal right.
If you intend to claim mileage you will need business insurance.0 -

You have no "right" whatsoever. However you can ask your employer. The usual rule is that you can claim travel expenses when you are not travelling to your 'normal' place of work. However companies vary, and employment contracts vary.0 -

Presumably you mean a claim for petrol costs from your employer? Your employer will most likely have a policy in place so ask them.
If its a course they are paying for and have insisted you go on it I would think its more likely they will pay for travel? We pay for travel to training courses that we have arranged
You certainly have no right to anything though no!0
