Cheap plumbing solution to drain problem?

Hello all,
In order to sell our flat we were required to get a property inspection of the shower room by the council.
When he filled the sink with water and then emptied it, some water started coming up into the shower and he said this is a problem. If our buyer insists on this being rectified - can anyone suggest the cheapest way of doing it. We've had Dyno-rod out and they say it's not blocked.
Basically - I really don't want to have to pay to have all the tiling / shower ripped out - pipework adjusted and new tiling/shower in... all for our buyer ! And would anyone have an idea how much any solution would cost??
Cheers!

So presumably the implication is that the plumbing installation doesn't meet building regs, and it was someone from building control or similar department visiting you....?
Have you contacted your (plumbing) installer, or did you do the work yourself?0 -
I got the same issue. The cowboys interconnected tub and shower together.0

@ googler
the work was done prior to our owning the flat. The home report (we're in Scotland) said there had been changes made to the bathroom at some point in the past but we had no documentation on it...so had to get this retrospective property inspection.
Had a word with the guy from the council and he said maybe an air admittance valve at the sink might work...so that might be our first option.0
